About
The Workers Confluence Fund of Minnesota is a unique fund that supports the collaboration between worker centers and other community organizations, unions, and funders.
We are building toward a more powerful, more inclusive Minnesota labor movement characterized by collaborative campaigning, bold industry strategies, and more worker organizing -- leading to better jobs and brighter futures for the working people of Minnesota.
Approach
We will do this both by fostering expanded access to existing structures for building and wielding worker power (unions, worker centers) and by fostering the development of new structures (cooperatives, standard-setting and monitoring organizations, sectoral bargaining tables, etc.). Most importantly, by knitting together disparate strands in worker and community organizing we will build trust, build shared capacity, and win victories that materially improve the lives of working people and their families.
This has the potential to improve health and education outcomes, increase neighborhood and family stability, and facilitate long-term wealth-building among marginalized communities.
